FAQ: Port FeesWhen catching a car ferry to St. John from St. Thomas, port fees are paid prior to your departure. The fees are a Government of the Virgin Islands fee payable to the Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA.) VIPA's agents can be found in the booth, prior to going into the gate and on the dock. Your car ferry transportation services are payable either online or on board the vessel to the operator that owns said vessel. Love City Car Ferries, Inc. operates the Vic branded ferries which are black and white. Prices for our vehicles are determined based on the weight and size of the vehicle. Port fees are determined by VIPA and are subject to change. Please contact them for any questions with regard to these fees. Thanks for your patronage and see you on board.

Are the port fees separate from the ferry fee for the car? Is there a port fee each time for the car?
