What to Expect When You Arrive
Confirm Vessel: All ferry companies depart from the same public dock in Red Hook. Please ensure that you verify you are boarding the correct ferry before lining up.
Boarding: Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) staff direct vehicles and passengers on the dock, similar to TSA at an airport. Once it’s time to board, our ferry staff take over and guide vehicles onto the vessel. Remember, vehicles disembark in reverse order—if you board first, you’ll be among the last to leave.
Packing: You’re free to pack your vehicle however you like. Store luggage and belongings inside your car for easy boarding and unloading.
