Pay it Forward

If you have been keeping abreast of the most recent news, I am sure you heard about the snow storm in Atlanta metro.  Cars were literally parked on the highway.  Many people slept in their cars or abandoned them.  Kids were stuck at school and had to spend the night there.  It was a horrific experience for many.  What wasn't televised on national news however, was the fact that there were many individuals who left their cars and literally, using their own money, went and bought water, blankets, and food for other motorists.  These Good Samaritans were Paying it Forward.

The Global Movement to Pay it Forward is nothing new.  Sometimes we forget that kindness is indeed a worthwhile virtue, or we forget that to help our neighbors takes nothing away from us personally.

As good corporate citizens Love City Car Ferries, Inc. has always recognized the necessity to give back to our community.  We have paid it forward in service and in kind.  For 2014, we intend to continue this trend.

Let us all Pay it Forward in our everyday life:  

1. Hold the door open for the person coming in after you, elderly or not,
2. Give a friend you haven't heard from in a long time a call,
3. Check on your neighbor and carry him or her a bowl of soup or a box of laundry detergent that you found out was on sale.

Whatever little thing we do is a blessing and we don't know how that blessing truly impacts the recipient.  It doesn't have to take a catastrophic event for us to remember that little acts of kindness matter.
