As of yesterday, the U.S. Coast Guard has now set the ports to Readiness Condition Four, which indicates that while we must remain vigilant, operations can resume in a safer manner. As a result, we are happy to announce that Love City Car Ferries is open for service and our car ferries are fully operable. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the recent weather conditions, and we are committed to ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our passengers. As many of you are aware, Hurricane Erin is currently positioned to the north of the United States Virgin Islands. While our region is not in the direct path of the hurricane, the outer bands of the storm are impacting our territory, resulting in severe weather conditions, including high seas and flash flooding.
After careful consideration and assessments conducted by our experienced captains, Love City Car Ferries, Inc. has decided to suspend ferry services this morning. The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew are our top priorities, and we believe this decision is necessary to ensure their protection during these hazardous conditions. We recognize the inconveniences that this suspension may cause, including for those with existing reservations. All reservations made for the duration of the service suspension will be automatically rescheduled or refunded. Our team is closely monitoring the storm’s progress, and we will continue to assess the conditions throughout the day. Updates regarding the resumption of our regular ferry schedule will be communicated via this platform as soon as we have more information. We would like to remind you of our policy regarding refunds on our transportation services. Love City Car Ferries, Inc. provides no refunds for transactions where the one leg of your round trip has been completed. However, we will continue to offer refunds for cancellations made 3 days prior to the scheduled departure time and for any changes or cancellations made by Love City Car Ferries, Inc. We would like to emphasize that our docks are managed by the Virgin Islands Port Authority(VIPA) and not by Love City Car Ferries, Inc. Therefore, if customers mistakenly board the wrong vessel, we cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience caused. We urge you to speak up for yourselves at the docks and do not allow VIPA officials to put you on the wrong company's vessel. This is imperative because at such time, you are already within the 3 day no refund window.
